Welcome to the Barns of the Sonoma-Marin Fair

The Sonoma-Marin Fair is proud to support the youth who participate in FFA and 4-H. Fairgoers are invited to visit each of the livestock barns to meet the young men and women who have fed, groomed, and cared for each and every one of their animals. Mingle with the animals themselves and learn a little about animal husbandry and our local agricultural community.

This is the time of year that we get to see how our county’s youth present animals they have raised all year. They stand to win more than $37,000 in premium and prize money the fair awards each year to support youth in agriculture.

One of the Fair’s best-kept secrets, city and country folk are invited to jump in for a wild afternoon of fun that includes Calf and Pig Scramble, Hay Bucking, the Marin vs. Sonoma Tug-a–War, the Hide Race, the Boot & Shoe Scramble, Mutton Bustin’ and the Wild Cow Milking Contest. The Farm Olympics events take place at the Horse Arena and is not for the faint of heart. (Entry information coming soon.)

You can also wander the barns with our self-guided Livestock Walk to see close up the animals that populate our counties. You’ll see beef and dairy cows, sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, cavies all getting ready for their big debut in the show ring.
