Redwood Empire Sheep Dog Association Sheep Dog Trials

The Sheep Dog Trials, hosted by the Redwood Empire Sheep Dog Association,  are on Sunday, June 23rd at 1:00 pm. Open to competitors from all over California, this event will showcase the ability of the dog and handler to guide three sheep through various obstacles.  The obstacles and movements are designed to reflect tasks that a dog and their handler would complete in everyday work and give them the chance to show off their best skills. These include maneuvers like driving the sheep in a straight line, between gates, or separating specific sheep from the herd. The sheepdog trials are included with fair admission and are always a crowd favorite.
